Diablo IV's Season of the Malignant: July 20th Launch
Okay, copy that.
**Diablo IV's First Season Release Date and Details Revealed**
Blizzard has officially announced that Diablo IV's first season, "Season of the Malignant," will launch on **July 20th**. This marks the beginning of a new chapter for the game, introducing a new questline focused on a spreading corruption across Sanctuary. Players will team up with a new character, Cormond, to investigate the Malignant, corrupted versions of existing creatures.
The season also brings Malignant Hearts, new items that can be inserted into Infested Sockets on equipment. These hearts offer powerful bonuses and are a core mechanic of the season. Players will be able to earn them through various activities, including defeating Malignant creatures.
To participate in the seasonal content, players will need to create a new seasonal character. This offers a fresh start and allows everyone to experience the new content together. Blizzard has also stated that pre-season characters will still be playable but will not be able to access the Season of the Malignant content.
Alongside the new content, Season of the Malignant will also introduce various quality-of-life improvements and balance changes based on player feedback from the launch period. Full patch notes are expected to be released closer to the season's launch. The Season Pass will also go live with both free and premium tiers, offering cosmetic rewards and other bonuses.
